Definition: Synthwave is used in musical performance and recording. Instruments create Sound through Strings, air columns, membranes, resonant bodies, or electronic circuits.
- How it’s played: depending on the Instrument—plucked, bowed, struck, blown, or triggered electronically.
- In production: it may be recorded with microphones, captured via DI, or reproduced with a sampled/virtual Instrument.
- Sound role: instruments often fill a function in a mix (Rhythm, Bass, Harmony, Melody, Texture).
